Job summary

New York Air Brake LLC in Riverside, MO, on-site, seeks an assembler to support production of locomotive valves. You will teardown and assemble components, monitor test results, and help maintain quality and safety on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to interpret assembly procedures.

Responsibilities

• Teardown and assembly of locomotive freight valves and monitor test codes.
• Understand testing procedures when valves fail.
• Instruct and demonstrate assembly to other employees when errors occur.
• Perform hazardous waste management duties as necessary; DOT Hazmat shipper every three years.
• Adhere to Quality, Product Safety, and Health/Safety/Environmental policies.
• Follow Integrated Management System policies and KPIs.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This person will assist with keeping employees on track with production requirements while simultaneously performing the job.

• Teardown, assembly of locomotive freight valves and monitoring the function of each test code part.
• Understand the testing process when valves fail.
• Instruct and demonstrate to other employees when there are assembly errors.
• Perform hazardous waste management duties as necessary. Annual hazardous waste management will be completed. Department of Transportation Hazardous Materials Ground Shipper will be completed every three (3) years.
• Must understand and support all Quality, Product Safety, and Health/Safety/Environmental/Energy policies.
• Must understand and adhere to all relevant statutory or regulatory compliance obligations.
• Must understand, support and adhere to the Integrated Management System policies, procedures and instructions.
• Must understand and support relevant key performance indicators (KPIs), as defined in the goal tree.

Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

The employee will be exposed to shop floor conditions, i.e. noise, heat, cold, dust/dirt etc. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.

Required Education and Experience
