About the Role:

The Repair Technician keeps See Hear Pro’s audio, video, lighting, and rigging/power equipment inventory in working order between events. Based out of the warehouse, this role diagnoses and repairs wireless microphone systems, moving lights and lighting fixtures, LED video wall panels, cabling and connectors, road cases, and power distribution gear returning from events. The technician works closely with the warehouse and operations team to keep gear rental-ready, and coordinates directly with manufacturers and outside repair vendors on RMAs when equipment needs factory-level service. Precision in soldering, connector work, and hardware repair is essential to minimizing downtime and keeping gear ready for the next load-out.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Soldering experience, including hand soldering connectors, and cables.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with hands‑on experience or technical training in electronics, AV, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of production cabling and connectors (XLR, DMX, powerCON, Ethercon, Socapex, etc.)
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and other manufacturer service documentation.
  • Ability to occasionally lift/carry up to 50 lbs and work on your feet in a warehouse environment.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • U.S. work authorization.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with manufacturer warranty/RMA processes.
  • Experience repairing or maintaining audio systems.
  • Experience with moving lights, LED fixtures, or lighting control equipment.
  • Experience with LED video wall panels, processors, or video signal troubleshooting.
  • Forklift certification, or willingness to obtain one.
  • Prior experience in live events, touring, or equipment rental/staging.
Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and repair audio, video, lighting, and power equipment flagged as faulty.
  • Solder and repair equipment components, including cabling, connectors, and circuit boards.
  • Test, calibrate, and verify wireless mic systems, lighting fixtures, and video wall panels before returning them to rental‑ready inventory.
  • Inspect road cases, casters, latches, and rigging hardware, and flag issues for repair by the Fabrication Department.
  • Log repairs and track parts orders in the inventory management system.
  • Initiate and track manufacturer RMAs and outside vendor repairs when equipment needs factory service.
  • Maintain an organized repair bench and manage spare parts/consumables stock, flagging reorder needs.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
  • Warehouse‑based role, with some exposure to dust, noise, and temperature variation typical of a working warehouse.
  • Occasionally lifts and moves equipment cases up to 50 lbs; occasional team‑lift for heavier items.
  • Occasional evening/weekend availability tied to the event calendar; occasional local travel for on‑site event support.
