Job summary

STERIS - Commercial Operations seeks an Equipment Service Technician to troubleshoot and repair medical equipment at hospital sites. This remote-based, customer-facing role requires strong mechanical skills and the ability to work independently with team support.

You will manage PMs, service calls, installations, and field upgrades, while collaborating with Tech Support, Engineering and Service Contract Management to resolve issues and maintain regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 4+ years in mechanical/technical role.
• Associates degree or related certifications may be considered towards technical experience.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain vendor credentials.
• Customer and team engagement experience.
• Effective written and verbal communication; basic computer skills.

The Equipment Service Technician is a remote based Customer facing employee, primarily working inside hospitals.You will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing medical equipment.Individuals with experience working in HVAC repair, Mechanics, Maintenance, Refrigeration, Boilers, Chillers, Equipment Repair, Diesel and Automotive Repair, Aviation Repair, Plumbing, Electrical, etc. are often successful.This is a remote based Customer facing position. To support and service our Customers in this assigned territory candidates must be based out of one of the following states: California.What you'll do as an Equipment Service TechnicianPerform fundamental troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of STERIS and competitor equipment, systems and components.Manage time effectively by prioritizing Customer and business needs and schedules autonomously to complete PM performance, service calls, warranty calls, equipment installations, field upgrade programs and other duties.Work with cross functional teams (Tech Support, Engineering and Service Contract Management), to escalate issues appropriately and utilizes advanced technology platforms to complete compliance regulatory requirements, and resolve and document troubleshooting issues.The Technician will provide Customers with information, pricing and repair options. With management support, build relationships with Sales to drive Customer experience and revenue opportunities. Learn to identify sales opportunities in assigned territory.Provide support to various locations within assigned territory depending on the service agreements and Customer needs.The Experience, Skills and Abilities NeededRequired:High School Diploma or GED with 4+ years of work experience, with 2 of those years in a mechanical/technical role.
