Job summary

Construction Resources is seeking a Punch / Repair Specialist to resolve field installation issues, perform quality repairs, and ensure projects meet high standards. This role partners with Scheduling and Operations and builds strong relationships with clients and field partners.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and capable of delivering effective solutions under varied field conditions.

Qualifications

  • Ability to accurately take measurements and understand job paperwork, installation documentation, drawings, and plans.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, dependable, and capable of working independently in the field.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively when standard repair methods are not sufficient.
  • Demonstrated ability or willingness to become highly skilled with a side grinder and polishing equipment across a variety of natural and engineered stone surfaces.
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools, repair work, construction practices, and field installation procedures.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients, contractors, and internal team members.
  • Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and continually improve technical and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to safely operate a company vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Scheduling Department to ensure quality installations and timely completion of punch and repair work.
  • Assist with developing and maintaining an efficient punch schedule so daily routes flow smoothly and priority items do not slip through the cracks.
  • Complete field repairs and adjustments while maintaining a high standard of workmanship and customer service.
  • Consistently improve technical skills and develop innovative, practical methods for accomplishing difficult or unusual repairs.
  • Create and improve systems, processes, and communication methods that adequately support the inside team and field clients.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with clients, contractors, builders, installers, and other field partners so routine details can be handled efficiently without unnecessary involvement from Scheduling.
  • Communicate the results of each repair to the Scheduling Department and Operations Manager, including whether the repair was successful, unsuccessful, or requires additional action.
  • Take clear before‑and‑after photographs of completed repairs and adjustments for documentation, communication, and quality‑control purposes.
  • Assist with field troubleshooting and provide useful feedback to the inside team regarding recurring installation or product issues.
  • Work as a team player and support other departments and field personnel when needed.

Job description

The Punch / Repair Specialist is responsible for resolving field-related installation issues, completing quality repairs and adjustments, and helping ensure that every project meets the high standards of Construction Resources. This position works closely with Scheduling and Operations while also developing strong working relationships with clients, contractors, and field partners. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

FIELD SERVICES & ADDITIONAL DUTIES
  • Mount and install sinks.
  • Drill holes and make minor field modifications or adjustments.
  • Perform caulking and finishing work.
  • Complete minor countertop and stone repairs, including grinding, honing, polishing, and blending as appropriate.
  • Occasionally perform small 'one‑man' installation jobs when required.
  • Perform other reasonable field‑service duties necessary to support successful installations and customer satisfaction.
TOOLS, VEHICLE & WORK AREA
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment at all times.
  • Properly maintain, organize, and care for company tools and equipment.
  • Maintain adequate repair materials and supplies and communicate when replenishment is needed.
  • Complete or coordinate scheduled maintenance for the company vehicle and report mechanical or safety concerns promptly.
  • Follow all applicable company safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
PHYSICAL & FIELD REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to periodically lift and maneuver materials weighing approximately 50–100 lbs., using safe lifting practices and assistance when appropriate.
  • Ability to work in residential and construction environments, including finished homes, active job sites, tight spaces, and varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and stone‑fabrication/repair equipment.
