Job summary

Woodward Inc. is seeking Repair & Overhaul Technicians for the Loves Park campus on 1st shift (Mon-Fri, 6:00am–3:30pm). Training schedule starts with 1st shift, then possible 2nd shift timing.

Role involves teardown, assembly, testing, and supporting cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality servo valves, actuators, and pumps. Ideal candidates demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a lean mindset, with good communication and problem-solving skills to contribute to

Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read mechanical drawings.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose routine product issues.
  • Proficient with hand tools and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Teardown, assembly and test products per SOPs.

These positions are on 1st shift (Mon-Fri, 6:00am – 3:30pm) and are located are our Loves Park Campus, where innovation, precision, and quality are at the heart of everything we do. This role will provide support and operations in products such as servo valves, actuators, fuel metering units, specialty valves or pumps. Interested candidates must be flexible for upwards of 3 months to be able to train on an alternative training schedule.Repair & Overhaul Technician IKey Responsibilities:· Teardown, Assembly and Test Product: Follows documented procedures to accurately and efficiently teardown, assemble and test product using specified tools and equipment.· Process: Coordinates with appropriate members and cross-functional teams to perform analysis, investigation, work scope of product.· Quality: Conducts inspections and tests to verify the accuracy and functionality of products and records and maintains data per operating standards.· Organization & Cleanliness: Adheres to 5S principles by keeping workstations clean, organized, and free of unnecessary items. Follows established guidelines to ensure tools, materials, and equipment are properly stored and maintained.· Safety Mindset: Adheres to all established safety protocols, procedures, and regulatory requirements; maintains mindfulness of self and surrounding work area to promote a safe working environment.Key Skills:· Technical Capability: Understands and follows basic technical instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Evaluates product and determines component replacement needs for low-complexity product.· Critical Thinking: Identifies gap-to-standard and resolves or escalates them per standard processes/procedures.· Mechanical Aptitude: Demonstrates basic understanding of mechanical systems and components.
