Job Description

Under the direction of the Branch Manager or Field Leader, the Mobile Examiner's primary responsibility is to provide coverage in the field ensuring that mobile exams are completed accurately and on time. Maintain a safe and professional environment for applicants, clients, and employees, perform with confidence all aspects of an insurance exam, including specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures. May also be required to act as coach, mentor, instructor and resource person for new employees who have completed the required phlebotomy training program.

Pay Range: $13.97 - $26.71 / hour. Salary offers are based on relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Benefits: Quest Diagnostics provides a 401(k) Plan with eligibility after one month and a fully vested company match up to 5% of pay after one year.

Responsibilities
  • Ensures all specimens are collected accurately and on time.
  • Collects specimens according to established procedures.
  • Conducts in-center exams and mobile exams, including taking basic vitals, medical histories, venipuncture, urine collection, and EKGs; collects specimens for pre-employment drug screenings and other Quest Diagnostics services.
  • Completes application packets and other paperwork accurately.
  • Labels, centrifuges, and splits specimens as required by test order.
  • Uploads and completes cases in portal within 24 hours on weekdays and within 48 hours on weekends.
  • Packages specimens for transport and ships to lab indicated on work orders.
  • Responsible for the safe and timely transporting of specimens, supplies, equipment, and materials to the appropriate destination.
  • Maintains records of each specimen collected daily; supports Record Deletion process when directed by Management.
  • Submits original paperwork to destination; provides customer service to clients.
  • Follows current Examiner’s Manual and policies, including Safety, Compliance, and QA guidelines.
  • Maintains phlebotomy logs and an error rate of no more than 3%.
  • Confirms exams with clients the day before appointment and updates status at the time of confirmation.
  • Corrects non-applicant errors within 24 hours; submits accurate time, travel, and expense logs as directed; clocks in/out for work assignments; provides travel logs when applicable.
  • Demonstrates organizational commitment, including grooming, dress code, and lab coat policies; wears company ID at all times; maintains professional communication with customers, agents, applicants, coworkers, and the public.
  • Additional responsibilities: maintain neat work areas, assist with periodic inventory, place supply orders, ensure SOP compliance, mentor new employees, distribute technical information, and travel up to 25 miles with flexible hours.
  • All other duties as assigned within scope of the position; may answer phones and assist with dispatch as needed.

Required use of company iPad or specified electronic device.

Qualifications

Preferred Work Experience:

  • Urine or hair follicle collection and EKG experience preferred.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Sitting for periods of time; standing while performing work.
  • Driving to and from work assignments; lifting up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to multitask; flexible with scheduling including weekends/holidays/overtime; occasional on-call duties.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record with reliable/insured transportation.
