Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily rental fleet operations and bookings.
  • Coordinate rental and hotel reservations and guest check-in/out.
  • Lead and motivate staff; handle customer inquiries respectfully.
  • Ensure high levels of customer experience for renters and guests.
  • Maintain proper damage reporting to minimize repairs.
  • Schedule shifts, including evenings and weekends.
  • Coordinate fleet maintenance with Maintenance Shop.

Bering Straits Development Company (BSDC) construction division is a full-service general contractor. Their experience in single and multi-family housing, commercial buildings and industrial construction and renovation. To complement the general construction activities, BSDC also has in-house electrical, plumbing and heating systems expertise. About this position: Rental Vehicle Manager in Nome, AK

  • Overseeing the day-to-day operational activities of the rental fleet
  • Manage the rental vehicle business booking systems and checking in and out of rental vehicles
  • Motivate team members and resolve any issues that occur on the job
  • You will be effectively communicating with customers, responding to all customer inquiries and concerns in a professional and friendly manner both on the telephone and in person
  • Ensure the highest levels of customer experience for all vehicle renters and guests of Hotel
  • Work a variety of scheduled shifts, including mid-shifts, evenings and weekends
  • Ensure effective damage reporting to minimize unnecessary repair
  • Strong leadership and effective communication skills and be able to motivate and encourage good team work
  • Coordinate all rental fleet maintenance needs with Maintenance Shop
  • Light Hotel Maintenance needs
  • You will also operate the Hotel reservation system with taking and making reservations, via phone, email and in person and assisting with checking guests in and out of Hotel
  • Must be able to learn and operate both the Rental Vehicle Reservation System and Hotel Reservation System
Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications
  • Education Requirements: Must have a High school diploma. Secondary Education is a plus.
  • Level of Experience Requirements: Must have a clean driving record and have held a license for at least 2 years
  • Stamina to handle the physical demands of the job for example: occasional lifting and carrying 40 lbs

  • Work experience as a Rental Vehicle Manager or similar role

Additional Qualifying Factors

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain and maintain the appropriate clearance levels required and must also be able to obtain access to military installations.
