Job summary

Discovery Land Company’s Homewood Mountain & Lake Club in Lake Tahoe, CA, seeks a Rental Technician to outfit guests with ski and snowboard gear and provide clear instruction on equipment use and safety. The role supports the Rentals Department and requires a positive attitude, strong communication, and a team spirit.

You will assist with boot fitting, perform light maintenance, and help keep records in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment at Homewood Lake Club.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English; other languages preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, knowledgeable guest service throughout the rental experience.
• Assist guests with equipment selection, fitting, setup and proper use; ensure equipment matches needs and ability.
• Explain operation and safety procedures to guests; address concerns promptly.
• Assist with boot fitting and adjust for comfort, fit, and safety.
• Perform routine maintenance, waxing, and minor repairs as directed by supervisor.

This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company’s locations: Homewood Mountain & Lake Club, set on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe in Homewood, California. Homewood Mountain & Lake Club is seeking a Rental Technician to join the Rentals Department.**Job Summary:**The Rental Technician is responsible for outfitting guests with appropriate equipment based on their individual needs while providing clear instruction on equipment use and applicable safety procedures. The Technician supports the daily operations of the Rentals Department, including assisting guests with equipment selection and fitting, providing instruction on rental equipment, assisting with boot fitting, performing minor equipment maintenance, and completing equipment tuning and waxing as needed.**Duties & Responsibilities:*** Provide friendly, knowledgeable, and professional guest service throughout the rental experience.* Assist guests with equipment selection, fitting, setup, and proper use while ensuring equipment is appropriate for their needs and ability level.* Explain equipment operation, safety procedures, and applicable policies to guests.* Assist with boot fitting and make appropriate adjustments to ensure guest comfort, fit, and safety.* Work with the Rental Supervisor to address and resolve guest service concerns in a timely and professional manner.* Perform equipment checks and safety inspections in accordance with established procedures and industry standards.* Perform minor repairs, equipment tuning, waxing, and other routine maintenance as directed.* Maintain accurate and complete departmental records.* Ensure the Rental Shop is maintained and operated in accordance with its Department Operating Plan (DOP).* Maintain a safe work environment and promptly report equipment, facility, or safety concerns to management.* Snow removal as required.* Other duties as assigned.**Skills & Qualifications:*** Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.* Previous experience with ski and snowboard equipment rental, fitting, adjustment, maintenance, or related operations preferred.* Must be at least 18 years old.**Additional Requirements:*** Flexibility and ability to pivot to new projects and desire to work in fast-paced environment.* Ability to work in a team environment.* Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.* Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.* Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
