Job summary

Discovery Land Company operates Homewood Mountain & Lake Club, where the Rental Supervisor leads the Rentals team, ensures exceptional guest service, and maintains ski equipment to the highest standards. This role reports to management and supports scheduling, coaching, and safety procedures at a luxury resort location on Lake Tahoe.

You will oversee equipment maintenance, train staff, and optimize operations to handle busy seasonal volumes while upholding brand service levels and safety

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of supervisory work experience in hospitality or customer service, preferably in a luxury service or ski resort environment.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to train others and maintain accountability of staff.
• Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company’s locations: Homewood Mountain & Lake Club, set on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe in Homewood, California. Homewood Mountain & Lake Club is seeking a Rental Supervisor to join the Rentals Department.**Job Summary:**The Rental Supervisor supports the day-to-day operations and leadership of the Rentals department, ensuring every guest receives knowledgeable, efficient, and exceptional service throughout their Homewood experience. This position supervises and coordinates all activities associated with the operation of the Rental Shop, including providing exceptional guest service, renting and maintaining ski and snowboard equipment.**Duties & Responsibilities:*** Deliver exceptional, personalized guest service by answering questions, identifying guest needs, recommending appropriate rental products, and resolving concerns in a timely and professional manner.* Supervise and mentor the rental team with daily operations, questions, and guest service needs.* Support staff scheduling, training, coaching, and development to promote consistent service and operational standards.* Manage the maintenance, inspection, and safe operating condition of all rental equipment.* Ensure equipment inspections and safety checks are completed in accordance with industry standards and departmental procedures.* Establish and adjust employee work procedures, assignments, and schedules to effectively meet business demands and fluctuating seasonal guest volumes.* Identify opportunities to improve working conditions and the use of equipment, tools, and resources to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the rental shop and team.* Maintain accurate and complete departmental records.* Perform the duties and responsibilities of rental team members as needed to support daily operations.* Ensure the Rental Shop is maintained and operated in accordance with its Department Operating Plan (DOP).* Communicate operational needs, staffing concerns, equipment issues, and other departmental matters to management in a timely manner.* Snow removal as required.* Other duties as assigned.**Skills & Qualifications:*** Minimum of 1 year of supervisory work experience in hospitality or customer service, preferably in a fast-paced, luxury service or ski resort environment.* Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively train others and maintain accountability of staff.* Previous experience with ski and snowboard equipment rental, fitting, adjustment, maintenance, or related operations preferred.* Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate information accurately.* Must be at least 18 years old.**Additional Requirements:*** Flexibility and ability to pivot to new projects and desire to work in fast-paced environment.* Ability to work in a team environment.* Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.* Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.* Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.* Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
