Job Title: RentalSales Representative
Reports to: Rental Sales Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Rental Sales Manager, the Sales Representative achieves departmental sales goals through direct personal sales contact with rental, marine, and used equipment customers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Develops, implements, and executes a marketing plan for an assigned customer base and geographic territory.
- Develops and expands current customer database and updates it monthly, utilizing Sales Link.
- Sells and rents new and used machinery. Completes sales invoices.
- Upon request, provides financial counseling and marketing to entire customer base to facilitate sales. Makes sure customers are invoiced and funds received by the Company.
- Cold calls to develop new accounts and to add to database.
- Controls expenses required in sales transactions and adheres to Hawthorne guidelines.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have previous sales experience in the heavy equipment industry.
- Must have a valid Drivers License with a good driving record.
- Must have PC skills.
- Must have the ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must have a positive attitude and be a self-starter.
- Must be organized and a good planner.
- Must have the ability to set and meet goals.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Walking: Moves about on foot, often through uneven terrain.
- Handling: Seizes, helps, or works with hands.
- Lifting: Raises or lowers miscellaneous paperwork.
- Reaching: Extends hands and arms in any direction.
- Stooping: Bends body downward and forward by bending at knees or waist.
- Standing: Remains in standing position if required to perform various functions of the job.
- Vision: Reads computer and paperwork.
- Talking: Communicates by phone and in person.
- Sitting: Sits at desk for extended periods.
ENVIRONMENTAL
- Noise: Works in conditions with constant or intermittent noise.
- Temp/Weather: Works outside and in an office environment with variations of temperature and weather.
- Exposure: Subject to foul odors, fumes, and harsh substances.
