Budget Car & Truck Rental of Las Vegas is seeking energetic, customer-focused individuals who know how to turn great service into a great customer experience! As a Customer Service Rental Agent, you'll be the face of our rental operation, helping customers get on the road with the right vehicle while identifying opportunities to recommend upgrades and additional services.

This isn't just a customer service role.

• At least 4 years of customer service, retail, hospitality, rental-car, or sales experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers and coworkers.
• Comfort recommending and selling optional products and services.

• Ability to review customer identification and transaction details while maintaining confidentiality and privacy.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Welcome customers and provide prompt, courteous service at the rental counter.
• Confirm reservations and assist walk-in customers with vehicle availability and rental options.
• Verify driver's licenses, payment methods, age requirements, and other required rental qualifications.
• Prepare and process rental agreements accurately using the company's rental system.
• Explain rental rates, estimated charges, deposits, fuel options, mileage terms, return requirements, and other rental conditions.
• Offer and sell vehicle upgrades, optional protection products, prepaid fuel, additional driver options, roadside assistance, and other available services.
• Ask questions to understand each customer’s travel needs and recommend appropriate vehicles and products.
• Meet established sales, customer-service, and transaction-accuracy goals.
• Obtain required customer acknowledgments, initials, signatures, and payment authorizations.
• Process rental extensions, vehicle exchanges, early returns, and other rental-agreement changes.
• Review final charges and assist customers with questions regarding their rental agreement or receipt.
• Process payments, deposits, refunds, and other transactions according to company procedures.
• Maintain accurate records and protect customer payment and personal information.
• Communicate with lot operations, shuttle drivers, vehicle service staff, and management regarding vehicle readiness and customer needs.
• Monitor vehicle availability and coordinate substitutions when the reserved vehicle class is unavailable.
• Respond professionally to customer concerns and refer unresolved or escalated matters to management.
• Identify and report suspected fraud, invalid documentation, payment concerns, vehicle damage, or other unusual activity.
• Follow company procedures for cash handling, credit card transactions, identity verification, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional counter area.
• Answer telephone calls and respond to questions regarding reservations, rental requirements, rates, and location information.

Other Duties:

• Maintain adherence to company service protocols, confidentiality guidelines, and quality expectations.
• Participate in ongoing training, performance reviews, and team meetings.
• Maintain compliance with company policies and procedures, local regulations, and recommended best practices.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous car-rental, hotel front-desk, airline, travel, retail, or commissioned-sales experience.
• Experience using rental-management, reservation, point-of-sale, or payment-processing systems.
• Bilingual English and Spanish communication skills based on business needs.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to remain seated or standing at the rental counter for extended periods.
• Ability to frequently use a computer, keyboard, telephone, payment terminal, and other office equipment.
• Ability to communicate with customers in person and by telephone.
• Ability to occasionally walk to vehicles or other operational areas.
• Ability to occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures such as heat and cold indoors and outdoors.
• Ability to work in varying noise levels indoors and outdoors, in parking garages occasionally.

Work Schedule

Able to work full-time, on-site at our work location in Las Vegas, NV, based on business volume and demands, ensuring all business needs and job duties are met. Availability requirements may include early mornings, evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime.

Compensation

$13.00 - $15.00 dollars per hour plus eligible for commissions and bonus incentives through an incentive agreement plan. Average annual earnings depending on business volume and individual job performance can range from an estimated $50,000 to $90,000+ dollars annually.
