Job summary

GSP Transportation Inc in Wilmington, NC seeks a Rental Return Agent to deliver friendly, efficient service through the rental process and help customers with returns. You will greet customers, assist with luggage, review charges, and ensure accurate receipts while inspecting vehicles for damage and fuel levels.

Maintain an organized lot, support vehicle cleaning, and be knowledgeable about rental documents, surcharges, and coverage options. 401(k), health, and other benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license and a satisfactory MVR.
• Must be 21+ or have a license for 3+ years.
• Strong problem-solving and reliable data entry skills.
• Basic computer skills including Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers as they arrive and assist with luggage as needed.
• Advise on rental charges and provide accurate receipts.
• Inquire about service and satisfaction levels.
• Inspect vehicles for damage and fuel level; complete service alerts.
• Maintain an organized lot and support cleaning and turnover tasks.

Job description

The Rental Return Agent provides superior, friendly, and efficient service throughout the rental car process and assists customers with the rental return process.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet all customers as they arrive
• Assist customers with luggage
• Advise and review rental charges and provide an accurate receipt
• Inquire about service and satisfaction
• Inspect the vehicle and determine the fuel tank level
• Complete a service alert for any mechanical or body damage reported by customers
• Identify vehicles on hold for turnback, time, mileage, recall, or other locks, and verify their movement to the proper lot location
• Assist the service department with vehicle cleaning as needed
• Keep the lot organized for ease of access and traffic flow
• Maintain knowledge of rental/return documents, fuel services, surcharges, and optional coverage
• Understand the damage/loss reporting procedure
• Perform additional related duties as required or assigned

Qualifications

Required

• Must show proof of a valid driver's license and satisfactory (Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
• Must be 21 years of age or have a driver's license for 3 years
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Basic computer skills, including data entry, typing, and some experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to complete tasks with precision, speed, and a positive attitude
• Ability to work well with a team\
• Customer service and sales orientation
• Passion for helping others
• High school diploma or equivalent

Management Responsibilities

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities. This position reports to the Counter Supervisor and Location Manager.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting, working on a computer, twisting, bending, and walking; getting in and out of vehicles, driving, and inspecting vehicles
