Job summary

MacAllister Machinery Co., Inc. is seeking a Rental Mechanic to perform efficient repairs and maintenance of rental equipment in the shop.

You will troubleshoot malfunctions, assist with rebuilding and servicing, and ensure accurate repair documentation while following safety rules and directions from leadership. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 1+ year of related mechanic experience, and ideally a vocational certificate.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year or more experience in a mechanic/technician role.
• Certificate from vocational/technical school preferred.
• 3+ years of heavy equipment experience, ideally with rental or Caterpillar, with hydraulics and powertrains.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic troubleshooting and diagnosing of equipment malfunctions and failures.
• Assist in rebuilding, repairing, and maintaining equipment and components.
• Understand the operations, functions, specifications, capabilities, and controls of any piece of rental equipment.
• Complete all documents associated with repairs in an accurate and timely manner.
• Adhere to the manager’s and lead mechanic’s directions regarding all repairs and service calls.
• Adhere to all safety rules and maintain quality housekeeping in the work area.
