Job summary

Rizonet Consulting is seeking a full-time Rental Equipment Mechanic to service, maintain, diagnose, and repair equipment used in the rental division. The role requires diagnosing mechanical issues, working independently, and ensuring machines return to service quickly.

Equipment includes skid steers, excavators, man lifts, and similar machinery. Strong diagnostic skills and hands-on maintenance experience are essential for reducing downtime and keeping the fleet operational.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent) required or preferred.
• Prior experience as rental/heavy/diesel equipment mechanic or similar role.
• Experience with skid steers, excavators, man lifts, or related machinery strongly preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with diagnostic and repair tools.
• Able to perform physically demanding work and safely handle equipment.
• Reliable and capable of working with limited supervision.
• Available for full-time work.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, service, and repair rental equipment including skid steers, excavators, and man lifts.
• Perform preventative maintenance and routine servicing on equipment returned from customers.
• Troubleshoot mechanical problems and complete repairs efficiently to reduce downtime.
• Prepare equipment for its next rental by confirming it is serviced, operational, and safe.

Position Summary

Our client is seeking a full-time Rental Equipment Mechanic to service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair the equipment that runs through their rental division. This is an urgent hire for a dependable mechanic who can diagnose mechanical issues, work independently, and get machines back in service quickly. Equipment includes skid steers, excavators, man lifts, and similar rental and construction machinery.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, service, and repair rental equipment including skid steers, excavators, and man lifts
• Perform preventative maintenance and routine servicing on equipment returned from customers
• Troubleshoot mechanical problems and complete repairs efficiently to reduce downtime
• Prepare equipment for its next rental by confirming it is serviced, operational, and safe
• Identify maintenance needs and communicate equipment issues to management

Key Skills

• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair with construction, rental, or heavy equipment
• Hands-on diagnosis and preventative maintenance experience
• Ability to work independently, prioritize repairs, and respond to equipment breakdowns

Education & Other Requirements

Location

Central Texas (Groesbeck, TX area). This role supports the client’s local rental operations and equipment fleet.

Compensation

$22 to $26 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
