Yancey Bros. Co. is seeking a Rental Crane Truck Driver in Georgia to deliver and pick up rental equipment, complete inspections, and familiarize customers with equipment.

You will operate CDL-class trucks, maintain DOT logs, and ensure safety compliance. The role requires crane certification, 3+ years of heavy equipment delivery experience, and a strong commitment to customer service.

Qualifications

• Must have CDL Class A and crane certification.
• 3+ years of heavy equipment transportation experience.
• Able to pass background, MVR, DOT physical and drug screen.
• Must be 23 years or older and fluent in English.
• Knowledge of CMV rules per 49 CFR is required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and pick up rental equipment to customer sites.
• Perform pre/post delivery inspections and document drop-offs.
• Provide equipment familiarization to customers.
• Safely operate CDL vehicle such as 10 wheel roll back.
• Record DOT logs and maintain compliance.
• Capture digital photos of equipment before delivery.
• Obtain customer signatures and inspect for damage.
• Participate in safety programs and maintain safe work practices.

What You Will Be Doing:

As the Rental Crane Truck Driver you will be responsible for delivery and pick up of rental equipment to and from the store to the customer’s drop site. The Rental Crane Truck Driver will complete pre/post delivery inspections, document drop offs and pickups, and provide familiarization of the equipment with the customer.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Safely operate CDL assigned single body vehicle such as 10 wheel roll back
• Maintain safe driving record and follow all safety guidelines for operating and loading equipment including the use of proper PPE at all times.
• Maintain written and electronic DOT log book to be 100% in compliance.
• Take digital pictures of all equipment prior to delivery.
• Safely load and unload equipment onto assigned vehicle.
• Inspect all equipment for safe operation and cleanliness as final check before leaving yard for delivery.
• Obtain customer signature on rental contract and damage inspection sheet at time of delivery on >80% of deliveries.
• Provide familiarization overview of equipment to customer upon delivery.
• Inspect equipment for customer damage and safe operation before loading from customer location.Take digital pictures of unit at customer location and additional pictures as necessary of obvious or suspected customer damage.
• Demonstrate customer service in a positive manner with fellow employee and representing Yancey with the best impression possible to our external customers as well.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Participate in required safety program and work in a safe manner
• Crane Certification is required
• Complete a Driver’s Safety Course
• Additional duties as assigned by manager

Who We Are Looking For:

To be successful in this position you should have prior experience as a delivery driver, with a CDL class A license, specialized crane certification is required. You should be a critical thinker, able to lead by example, be comfortable with making decisions, show initiative, and a problem solver.

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Required Qualifications/Skills:

• Must be 23-years-old or older.
• Valid, active CDL license. Class A preferred.
• 3+ years of experience as a driver for heavy equipment transportation, general professional freight carrier, or heavy-duty trucking (e.g., wrecker, mobile crane).
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to clear driver screenings and provide necessary information for a complete DQ file, including but not limited to:
  • Road Test administered by Yancey personnel.
  • Background check and MVR with less than 10 points.
  • DOT Physical
  • Drug Screen
• Must not be disqualified to drive a CMV under 49 CFR § 383.5 or 49 CFR § 383.51.
• Ability to manage electronic log books and delivery software via electronic tablets.
• Capable and competent of operating and loading a variety of machines onto assigned transport vehicle.
• Customer service oriented with the willingness to go above and beyond expectations with a rock star attitude.
