Job summary

Peter Becker Community in Harleysville, PA is seeking a Renovations & Maintenance Technician to craft safe, comfortable living spaces for residents. You will manage renovation, remodeling, and facilities projects across our campus, with emphasis on carpentry, drywall, painting, flooring, and finish work.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Renovating occupied and vacant apartments and cottages.
• Carpentry, drywall repair, painting, flooring, and finish carpentry for apartment turnover.
• Installing cabinets, countertops, fixtures, tile, and other interior finishes.
• Assisting with plumbing and electrical installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Supporting demolition, debris removal, and project preparation.
• Maintaining tools, equipment, and work areas in excellent condition.
• Ensuring quality workmanship and professional service on projects.

Schedule

• Full-Time
• Monday through Friday
• Day Shift - 7:30 AM to 4PM
• Occasional overtime or emergency response as needed

What You’ll Do

No two days are exactly alike. In this hands‑on role, you'll work on a variety of renovation, remodeling, and facilities improvement projects throughout our campus.

• Renovating occupied and vacant apartments and cottages
• Performing apartment turnover work including carpentry, drywall repair, painting, flooring, and finish carpentry
• Installing cabinets, countertops, fixtures, tile, and other interior finishes
• Assisting with plumbing and electrical installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
• Supporting demolition, debris removal, and project preparation activities
• Performing general property maintenance and renovation work as assigned
• Working closely with the Renovations Manager to complete projects safely, efficiently, and with attention to detail
• Maintaining tools, equipment, and work areas in excellent condition
• Ensuring quality workmanship and professional service throughout every project
• Helping create attractive, functional living spaces that enhance residents' quality of life

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Demonstrated hands‑on experience in renovation, maintenance, construction, remodeling, property maintenance, or related skilled trades
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Ability to safely operate tools and equipment commonly used in renovation and maintenance work
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record preferred

Preferred Skills & Experience

Experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Carpentry or finish carpentry
• Drywall repair and finishing
• Cabinet installation
• Flooring installation
• Electrical installation and troubleshooting
• Plumbing installation and troubleshooting
• Tile installation and repair
• Residential remodeling
• Apartment turnover renovations
• Facilities or property maintenance

Experience Preferred

Three (3) to five (5) years of related hands‑on experience in renovation, construction, maintenance, or remodeling

Physical Requirements

This is an active position that requires the ability to:

• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Bend, kneel, crouch, climb, reach, and work overhead
• Use hand and power tools safely and effectively
• Move throughout buildings and job sites throughout the day
• Work in various indoor and outdoor conditions
• Assist during emergency situations when needed
