Job summary

Gilder Search Group seeks a Project Engineer / Assistant Project Manager for our Reno Division. This full-time role offers exposure to in-house design, self-perform teams, and a slate of major commercial projects in Northern Nevada.

With 2–5 years of GC experience, you will manage RFIs, submittals, schedules, and costs while coordinating subcontractors and maintaining thorough project documentation. A degree in a related field and proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, and MS Office are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related, or equivalent experience.
• 2–5 years with a commercial GC as PE or APM.
• Knowledge of RFI/submittal workflows and subcontractor coordination.
• Proficiency in Procore or similar, Bluebeam, and MS Office.
• Strong communication and proactive, team-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Manage RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings; keep logs current and the field unblocked.
• Coordinate subcontractors and support buyout, scopes, and change orders.
• Maintain project documentation, meeting minutes, and document control.
• Support scheduling, procurement tracking, and long-lead management.
• Review drawings and specs; flag conflicts and constructability issues early.
• Assist with cost tracking, budgets, and pay applications.
• Support QC walks, punch lists, commissioning, and closeout.
• Work closely with superintendents and self-perform crews in the field.
