Job summary

Lithium Americas seeks an Environmental & Regulatory Analyst to ensure compliance with laws and standards. Based in Reno, NV, you will coordinate permitting, analyze data, and interact with regulators to support project development and ESG reporting.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 2 years of relevant experience, strong writing, and data-driven decision-making. Occasional travel to other offices and sites may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in political science, environmental science, environmental engineering, or related field required.
  • Two (2) years’ experience preferred, with a background in environmental or regulatory affairs or natural resources.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks, risk management principles, and compliance tools is beneficial.
  • Excellent analytical, research and writing skills; strong communication abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Pursue and maintain local, state, and federal environmental permits for exploration and production facilities.
  • Research industry regulations to ensure compliance across operations.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and assess impact on the organization.
  • Develop internal policies and ESG-related guidelines for permitting.
  • Prepare and maintain information for regulatory submissions and ESG reporting.
  • Analyze regulatory data and prepare risk-focused reports.
  • Serve as liaison with regulatory agencies and respond to inquiries.
  • Support internal teams on regulatory requirements and compliance processes.
  • Create presentations for trainings and briefings; assist with consultant engagement and budgeting.
  • Build trusted cross-team relationships and promote company values.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
