Overview

Are you an underwriting professional who enjoys evaluating risk, working closely with agents, and delivering exceptional service to clients? Risk Placement Services (RPS) is seeking a Renewal Underwriter to support our specialty insurance operations by managing and servicing an existing book of business while ensuring profitable renewal retention.

In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing and evaluating renewal business, analyzing risk exposures, and making sound underwriting decisions in accordance with carrier and company guidelines. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is analytical, detail-oriented, and passionate about building strong relationships within the insurance industry.

How you'll make an impact

• Underwrite and manage renewal business across assigned accounts and territories.
• Evaluate risks by reviewing account characteristics, loss history, exposures, and underwriting information.
• Determine whether to renew, modify, or decline risks based on underwriting guidelines and carrier requirements.
• Analyze property, casualty, and other relevant risk factors to ensure profitability and compliance.
• Collaborate with brokers, agents, carrier partners, and internal teams to obtain information necessary for underwriting decisions.
• Communicate underwriting decisions and provide support in explaining coverage, pricing, and risk assessments.
• Maintain accurate underwriting documentation and account records.
• Assist in servicing and managing existing accounts to support client retention and satisfaction.
• Monitor renewal timelines and ensure timely processing of renewals.
• Stay informed on market conditions, underwriting trends, and carrier appetite changes.

About You

Required:

• Bachelor's degree and 2 years related experience required.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications and Microsoft Office.
• Detail oriented; strong analytical skills and good communication and interpersonal skills
