Our client, a Wholesale and Surplus Lines Broker and a Managing General Agent in Vancouver, WA, is seeking a remote Renewal Underwriter to join their growing team.

We’re seeking a Renewal Underwriter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes true ownership of their work. This role is ideal for someone who is analytical, organized, and process-driven with experience in handling high-volume renewals in both brokerage and in-house environments.

You’ll be responsible for managing a monthly volume of 200+ renewals across multiple lines of business. This includes creating renewal strategies, refining internal workflows, and driving continuous improvement in how we service and retain our book of business.

Job Requirements :

1. Manage and execute 200+ renewal accounts monthly across both brokerage and in-house business lines.
2. Evaluate existing policies for renewal and determine appropriate pricing, terms, and coverage recommendations.
3. Coordinate with producers, carriers, and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate renewal processing.
4. Own and build out renewal workflows and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
5. Create and maintain reports to track renewal performance, retention, and pipeline status.
6. Continuously identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in renewal operations.
7. Maintain compliance with underwriting guidelines, company policies, and industry regulations.
8. Act as the go-to subject matter expert on all things renewals—no direct reports, but high accountability.

Qualifications :

1. 2+ years of underwriting experience, ideally within the E&S or specialty insurance market.
2. Proven ability to manage high-volume workloads with accuracy and speed.
3. Strong understanding of insurance renewal cycles, policy documentation, and underwriting best practices.
4. Demonstrated experience in creating reports, SOPs, and process improvements.
5. Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
6. Self-motivated and proactive, able to “own your stuff” without being micromanaged.
7. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and underwriting systems.
