Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a PR and Communications Specialist for a rapidly growing renewable energy company. Based in Upington, Northern Cape, this hybrid role blends office collaboration with remote flexibility to shape and communicate the company narrative and amplify its brand.

You will manage media relations, draft press releases, build media lists, monitor coverage, coordinate interviews, and support content for the website and social channels while collaborating with internal teams to ensure

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in public relations, communications, or media relations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong editing and proofreading abilities.
• Familiarity with the South African media landscape.
• Experience in building media lists and conducting media outreach.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and execution of PR and communication strategies.
• Draft and distribute press releases, media advisories, and other PR materials.
• Build and maintain relationships with local and national media outlets.
• Monitor media coverage and compile reports on company mentions and industry trends.
• Respond to media inquiries and facilitate interviews for company spokespeople.
• Support the creation of content for the company website, social media channels, and internal communications.
• Assist with the planning and coordination of PR events and campaigns.
• Manage and update media contact databases.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent brand messaging.
