Job summary

RWE Americas, LLC seeks an Intern, Investment & Valuation (Summer 2027) to join the I&V team in Chicago. You will support the assessment of renewable energy investments, develop quantitative and qualitative analyses, and help prepare materials for leadership reviews.

You will work closely with finance colleagues, apply valuation methods, and contribute to process improvements while learning in a fast-paced environment. Office-based role with some travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or similar degree or graduating between December 2027 and June 2028
• Knowledge of valuation methodologies (especially DCF) and financial modeling (Excel)
• Communication and presentation skills
• Interest in renewable energy or energy markets
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to manage customer relationships
• Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables space
• Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams
• Strong leadership and communication, and ability to meet deadlines
• Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables
• Ability to multi-task, while working independently and as part of a team
• Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities
• Is detail-oriented, has strong business acumen, and a sound understanding of business concepts
• This position is an office-based role with some travel and visits to other RWEA offices and field locations
• Must be able to sit, walk, or stand for long durations of time

Responsibilities

• Support the strong growth ambitions of our Renewables business in the Americas
• Support analyses of investment opportunities and communicate results
• Collect and ensure completeness and validity of inputs to investment decisions
• Assist in preparing papers and presentations for the Executive Leadership Team and the Board
• Help identify and implement improvements to investment processes and valuation models
• Support ad-hoc projects with senior management involvement
• Assist other I&V team members including quality control reviews
