Job summary

Consumers Energy is seeking a Renewables Engineer to design and oversee clean energy systems, including solar, battery storage, and wind assets. The role focuses on project designs, reviews, and technical guidance across the lifecycle.

The position involves contract support with developers, compliance with portfolio standards, and expert testimony before the Michigan Public Service Commission. Hybrid work with on-site days in Jackson, MI is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program with 2+ years of energy modeling experience.
• Or bachelor's in engineering from a non-ABET program plus PE license and 2+ years of energy modeling experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and optimize renewable energy system performance.
• Develop engineering plans, specs, and designs for renewables projects.
• Prepare technical reports and feasibility studies.
• Design and support development/construction of solar, wind, and hydro facilities.
• Provide expert testimony in regulatory proceedings before the MPSC.
