We are looking for you,

Renewable Products Trader,

to join our Renewable Products Sales & Trading team in our Houston, TX office.

In this role, you will focus on generating renewable diesel sales and trading opportunities with market participants and aligning regional supply and demand with the Neste global portfolio. You will work closely with members of the Renewable Products Sales & Trading team as well as collaborate with functional teams including supply chain management, risk management, operations, and logistics among others.

On the Sales & Trading team, you will generate sales and trading opportunities and corresponding risk management solutions that enhance Neste’s market participation and profitability, negotiate 3rd party purchases and sales, collaborate with the team to manage term obligations, develop relationships with market participants and work collaboratively with operations and logistics to ensure proper takeaway and logistics capacity.

You will follow renewables markets, prices, supply & demand balances, and legislation in order to anticipate short and medium term opportunities and threats to dynamically adapt sales & trading offers. You will strengthen Neste’s position in key Americas markets while increasing optionality by leveraging your trading capabilities. You will play an important role on the sales & trading team to identify and realize Neste’s growth ambitions as a key supplier of renewable fuel and related services across the Americas.

Your role in our team will be to:

Generate sales & trading opportunities and corresponding risk management solutions that enhance Neste’s market participation and profitability.

Contribute to sales and trading team performance by leveraging trading capabilities to increase optionality and actively managing trading and risk positions.

Identify and realize Neste growth ambitions and opportunities as key supplier of Renewable Diesel and related services in the US and across the Americas.

Coordinate and drive optimal volume balance and flexibility across sales channels to maximize profitability.

Develop and grow lasting commercial relationships with external counterparties.

Originate new sales & trading business through expansion of our counterparty base (producers, traders, customers, distributors) across the Americas.

Manage communication and achieve alignment between key stakeholders and internal teams. Support integrated planning to optimize performance for Neste globally.

Keys to success in this role:

Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, business management or other relevant degree.

Minimum 5 years of physical trading experience with strong preference in renewable fuels trading; experience with direct / wholesale / rack fuels business in commercial fuel and industrial end customer B2B segments a plus.

In-depth refining knowledge of feedstocks sourcing, production, distribution and demand dynamics, supported by strong market logistics insight.

Strong knowledge of renewables market fundamentals, renewables incentive and sustainability programs, mandate optimization, and renewable credits trading.

Demonstrated ability to form long-term commercial relationships and negotiate contracts that deliver optimum results to the company.

Highly collaborative team player and able to build trust and work effectively with internal stakeholders and external counterparties.

Ability to constructively manage conflict, influence others, and persuade/facilitate resolution.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to ensure clarity and common understanding.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
