Westinghouse Electric Company seeks a Renewable Plant - Onboarding Engineer on a 1-year contract (W-2) to support onboarding of new renewable generation and battery energy storage facilities into Power Generation Division operations and the NERC compliance program.

The role requires a strong electrical and power systems engineering background with the ability to review electrical drawings, models, settings, commissioning data, and test results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or related field.
• 3–10 years of electrical/power systems engineering, utility operations, or power industry project experience (solar and BESS).
• Experience reviewing electrical drawings, models, and commissioning data.

Responsabilités

• Manage and review engineering and NERC compliance evidence for onboarding new renewable generation and BESS facilities.
• Review power system models (PSSE/PSLF/PSCAD) and verify consistency with equipment data and drawings.
• Interpret electrical diagrams, transmission, substation, and collection system drawings and data.
• Review MOD-related testing and model verification results to ensure accurate representation of installed facility.
• Review controller, inverter, protection and relay settings, short-circuit studies and related documentation.
• Identify discrepancies between drawings, models, data, and as-built documentation and drive resolution with stakeholders.
• Coordinate with Engineering & Construction, Operations, OEMs, and NERC personnel to close deficiencies.
• Track evidence requirements through COD and post-COD closeout; provide status visibility.
• Develop automation to improve efficiency of engineering and compliance activities (Python, Power Automate, Power BI).
• Develop Power BI dashboards for onboarding status, evidence completeness, and project readiness.
