Job summary

ERCOT is seeking an experienced engineer to provide technical support for reliability analyses of the Texas electric grid. You will work on wind and solar forecasting, data quality, and forecasting platform tooling to inform operations and planning.

Collaborate with meteorologists, control room staff, and other ERCOT teams to enhance forecast accuracy and reliability while applying NERC standards and ERCOT protocols.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience in wind and solar forecasting, data analysis, and AI/ML.
• Knowledge of NERC Standards and ERCOT Protocols is a plus.
• Collaborate with meteorologists and control room staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform wind and solar forecast performance analysis and prepare reports.
• Support Pay-for-Performance (P4P) evaluation and methodology.
• Develop tools and processes to improve forecast accuracy and data quality.
• Coordinate with ERCOT meteorologists and control room staff on forecast questions.
