Job summary

ERCOT seeks an Electrical Engineer to provide wind and solar forecasting analysis and Pay-for-Performance (P4P) evaluation to ensure reliable grid operations in Texas. You will monitor telemetry, perform data quality checks, and develop forecasting reports with ERCOT meteorologists and control room staff.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering (or related field) and experience with forecasting methods and ERCOT’s FPP; PE preferred. Hybrid work location in Taylor, TX.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is required.
• Proficiency with wind/solar forecasting methods and ERCOT FPP is expected.
• PE Professional Engineer certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform wind and solar forecast performance analyses and prepare forecasts and reports.
• Monitor renewable telemetry performance and data quality, investigating anomalies.
• Apply data analysis, statistical and AI/ML techniques to evaluate and improve forecast models.
• Support Pay-for-Performance (P4P) evaluation and methodology refinement.
• Collaborate with ERCOT meteorologists and control room staff on forecasting matters.
