Role Overview
Altanova is seeking a Renewable Energy & Analytics Manager to lead clean energy initiatives and develop data driven insights. In this role, you will oversee renewable energy projects—particularly solar and battery storage—while building analytical tools to optimize performance, manage risk, and support clients’ sustainability goals. You’ll collaborate across teams to ensure timely project delivery, effective contract negotiations, and adherence to technical and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Renewable Energy Projects
Lead end-to-end solar and battery storage efforts: scope and coordinate site evaluations, financial and physical analysis, vendor selection, design reviews, technical due diligence, and commissioning support. Ensure equipment sizing align with infrastructure, interconnection, and financial objectives.
- Drive Energy Procurement & Market Analysis
Source suppliers, evaluate power purchase agreements (PPAs), and negotiate contracts for large energy consumers. Monitor wholesale markets to forecast pricing, assess risk, and recommend optimal procurement strategies.
- Build Analytics & Modeling Tools
Develop energy system models that account for building’s electricity load profiles, solar panel generation performance, and revenue streams (demand response, ancillary services, electricity price and tariffs).
- Enhance Internal Tools & Automate Workflows
Collaborate with software teams to maintain and improve tools for financial analysis, performance monitoring, and risk assessment related to energy procurement and consumption of large buildings. Apply coding best practices and automate routine tasks to streamline processes.
- Collaborate & Lead
Mentor junior engineers and analysts, fostering knowledge sharing and technical excellence. Partner with sales and business development to prepare proposals and present findings. Stay current on evolving regulations, incentive programs, and emerging technologies to inform strategy and client recommendations.
Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters degree in engineering, Energy Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years in the renewable energy industry, including involvement in solar and battery development projects.
- Proficiency in Python and comfort using cloud platforms or BI tools (e.g., Power BI) to build dashboards and automate reporting.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and coordinate cross disciplinary teams.
- Strong communication skills to translate technical analyses into clear recommendations and negotiate effectively with vendors and partners.
