Job summary

Darling Ingredients Inc. is seeking an Operator to run computer controlled process equipment, cooker and related machinery, and to perform product quality testing. You will monitor systems, adjust parameters, and ensure safe, efficient operation throughout the shift.

Responsibilities include maintaining material flow to the cooker, controlling temperatures and steam, and performing routine maintenance. The role requires good math, mechanical aptitude, and reliable night/weekend availability.

Qualifications

• Basic math skills required for decimals and percentages.

Responsibilities

• Oversees rendering process from raw material bin to finished goods storage.
• Maintain steady flow of material to cooker.
• Maintain cooker temperature, rate, and steam at peak operating levels.
• Monitor evaporation rate to maintain rate per hour according to requirements.
• Control flow of material to presses and to finished goods storage.
• Monitor control panel and gauges to operate the process.
• Operate pollution control systems including air/odor and wastewater control.
• Responsible for boiler start up and operation.
• Perform periodic preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Monitor machinery and report problems to supervisor.
• Ensure work area is clean after each shift.
• Prioritize safety according to company rules and regulations.
