Job summary

St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, MO is seeking a Med Surg Renal CNA to support patient care on the 4E unit. You will assist with ADLs, mobility, feeding, vital signs, and help nurses with wound care and supplies, ensuring a safe environment.

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire.
• Current BLS upon hire and maintain current.
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months' previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician's office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) like bathing, dressing, and toileting
• Help with mobility, including turning, repositioning, and transferring patients to prevent skin breakdown, you may also feed patients who need assistance and monitor intake/output
• Take and record vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration), observe and report changes in a patient's condition to nurses, you may also help with wound care under the direction of an RN
• Stock and maintain supplies in patient rooms, ensure the environment stays clean and safe
• Assist in transporting patients within the hospital
