Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking a Dietetic Intern to support the Dialysis health care team under the supervision of a Registered Dietitian. The role focuses on medical nutrition therapy and adherence to FMCNA policies and regulatory requirements.

The intern will participate in nutrition interviews, plan development, and patient education while gaining hands-on experience in renal nutrition within a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Review Renal Nutrition Basics and Orientation/Training requirements.
• Review typical workflow for the Renal Dietitian and role of the RD.
• Conduct nutrition interviews with patients.
• Calculate diet prescription recommendations.
• Provide nutrition counseling to patients and designated caregivers.
• Collect data for Comprehensive Interdisciplinary Assessments.
• Assist in development and implementation of nutrition plan of care.
• Review monthly nutrition data with patients/caregivers.
• Write monthly nutrition progress notes.
• Contribute to nutrition-related projects for patients or staff.
• Attend Quality Assessment/Performance Improvement meetings with the RD.
