Full-Time • On-site, Delray Beach, FL • Operations / Removable Department • Reports to the Director of Quality
Peterson Dental Laboratory is a family-owned, full-service removable dental laboratory with 50 years in the business, our own quality management system (QMS), and our own training platform for our people. We make digital and traditional full dentures, removable and partial dentures, splints, repairs, and orthodontic appliances, and we work as part of our doctors' restorative team, not as a vendor down the street. Our Removable department needs a leader who knows removable inside and out.
We're looking for a seasoned removable technician who's ready to run a department, not a whole lab. If you've owned or managed a dental lab, you know the work you'd happily give up: collections, payroll reports, chasing every business detail. This role lets you focus on what you're best at: the cases, the quality, and the people. You'll lead our Removable team of technicians and a dedicated designer. This is a management role, not a bench seat. Your hands-on work is quality control on every case coming into, moving through, and leaving the department, plus training your team every day so the department never depends on one person.
Inspect every removable case at intake, at key checkpoints during production, and at final QC for fit, occlusion, and esthetics, and log every quality issue in Labtrac with a corrective action.
Lead, train, and develop our Removable Technicians and department designer: assign daily work, coach through problems, and cross-train so no product line depends on one person.
Own every removable product line: TruColor and traditional dentures, flexible, acrylic, and cast partials, implant and bar overdentures, splints, guards, retainers, and repairs and relines.
Lead the move to digital (Exocad design, 3D printing, and milling) where it improves fit and turnaround, while keeping the hand-made craft strong.
Be the removable expert for our doctors, chairside team, and other departments: partial design, tooth selection, occlusion, and attachments.
Manage labor and material use, inventory, and equipment maintenance so nothing delays a case.
Be part of a daily 15-minute huddle with our other prosthetic managers at 7:45 AM.
Close out each month cleanly: department organized, aged cases reviewed with Logistics, supplies returned, training and team meetings completed.
Bring product and customer feedback to our Directors of Sales and Quality and our Production Manager to help the Removable division grow.
At least 10 years of hands-on removable experience across dentures, partials, overdentures, appliances, and repairs, both hand-made and digital.
Experience as a dental lab owner, lab manager, or removable department manager strongly preferred. Advanced removable technicians ready to step into leadership are welcome to apply.
A track record of training and developing other technicians. Formal leadership training isn't required; we care about how you've led people.
A servant leader's mindset: you serve your team, hold the standard firmly and fairly, and coach rather than doing the work for people.
A sharp quality eye and the judgment to catch problems before they reach the patient.
Working knowledge of digital removable workflows (Exocad, 3D printing, milling). Labtrac experience is a plus.
Certified Dental Technician (CDT) preferred, not required.
Ability to stand, sit, and move around the lab for extended periods, and to do close, detailed inspection work with small instruments and magnification in a production environment with dust, acrylics, and resins.
Monday–Friday, 7:45 AM–5:00 PM. The lab opens at 8:00 AM; the prosthetic managers' huddle starts at 7:45 AM.
