Anchor Software LLC is seeking a talented Mainframe Developer to join our growing cross‑functional team as a remote US-based professional. You will design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2 in a collaborative environment.

Ideal candidates bring strong z/OS expertise, experience debugging with XPEDITER or File-AID, and a proactive problem-solving mindset. This role supports batch processing, automation, and performance tuning while ensuring quality

Qualifications

• Proven experience in mainframe development (COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, or similar).
• Strong understanding of z/OS or IBM mainframe environments.
• Experience with mainframe debugging tools such as XPEDITER or File-AID.
• Familiarity with batch processing, VSAM, and data management techniques.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications and systems
• Write, test, and debug COBOL, JCL, and other mainframe-based code
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions
• Analyze and resolve mainframe system issues and performance bottlenecks
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards
• Support mainframe batch processing, job scheduling, and automation
• Document technical specifications, processes, and system changes
