Job summary

Sedgwick, a global leader in risk and claims management, seeks a Claims Examiner in New York with jurisdictional licensing requirements. You’ll adjudicate complex workers’ compensation claims, determine benefits due, and coordinate with clients in a fast-paced, remote-enabled environment.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of claims experience, strong negotiation and communication skills, and a commitment to service excellence within Sedgwick’s values.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred; professional certification as applicable to the line of business.
• Experience: 3–5 years of claims management experience or equivalent.
• Public Entity Workers Compensation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and process Lost-Time Workers' Compensation claims to determine benefits and adjudicate within service expectations.
• Negotiate settlements within designated authority.
• Communicate claim activity with claimants and clients.
• Report claims to excess carriers and respond to directions in a timely, professional manner.
