Job summary

Sedgwick is seeking a dedicated Claims Examiner to process low-level workers' compensation claims for AK jurisdiction in a remote setting. You will adjudicate benefits, monitor reserves, and coordinate action plans toward resolution and return-to-work with support from leadership.

Ideal candidates bring 5 years of claims experience, AK licensing, and a mindset aligned with Sedgwick's caring culture. Strong communication, documentation, and risk assessment are essential to success.

Qualifications

• 5 years of claims management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
• Professional certification as applicable to line of business preferred.
• Jurisdiction knowledge and licensing: AK.

Responsibilities

• Processes low level workers compensation claims determining compensability and benefits due.
• Develops and coordinates action plans to resolution and return-to-work efforts.
• Approves and processes assigned claims and administers action plans.
• Administers subrogation of claims and negotiates settlements.
• Communicates claim actions with claimants and clients.
• Ensures claim files are properly documented and claims coding is correct.
• May process low-level lifetime medical and defined period medical claims as applicable.
• Maintains professional client relationships.
