Job summary

Sedgwick is seeking a Claims Adjuster - Workers Compensation to analyze mid- and higher-level claims across multiple jurisdictions (MI, TX, IN, IL, OH) and determine benefits due. Licensing is remote-friendly, with home state licensing required.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and at least four years of claims management experience, with strong analytical and communication skills to coordinate settlements and subrogation efforts while maintaining strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
• Four (4) years of claims management experience required.
• Licensing: Home State Required.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes mid- and higher-level workers compensation claims to determine benefits due and ensure adjudication within company standards.
• Develops and manages claims action plans, coordinates return-to-work efforts, and approves claim payments.
• Approves and processes assigned claims, determines benefits due, and manages action plans.
• Manages subrogation of claims and negotiates settlements.
• Communicates claim actions with claimants and clients.
• Ensures claim files are properly documented and claims coding is correct.
• May handle complex lifetime medical or defined period medical claims with state filings and treatment decisions.
