Job summary

Timmermann Group is seeking a capable Web Developer to join our team. You will write clean, reusable code, maintain WordPress websites, and collaborate with PMs and senior developers to meet client goals.

You will work primarily remotely with occasional meetings at our St. Louis HQ, bringing strong PHP, Git, and WordPress skills to deliver secure, accessible, and high-performance sites.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of professional web development experience.
• Solid experience developing and maintaining WordPress websites.
• Experience with WordPress themes, plugins, templates, and custom CMS functionality.
• Proficiency with Git version control.
• Working knowledge of accessibility and WC3 validation.
• Experience with website security and defensive programming best practices.
• Experience with website performance optimization and Core Web Vitals.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to work through issues independently.
• Organized coding practices and strong attention to detail.
• Proven ability to QA your own work thoroughly and consistently.
• Ability to manage multiple support requests, projects, and priorities in a fast-paced agency environment.
• Strong communication skills and a track record of proactively surfacing questions, blockers, and risks.
• Comfortable giving and receiving feedback, including some mentorship of junior team members.
• A growth mindset and desire to take on increasingly complex development responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Write Clean, Reusable Code following established development standards.
• Troubleshoot independently and resolve issues with limited escalation.
• Manage Website Maintenance & Support requests with responsiveness and reliability.
• Estimate work in collaboration with PM and Senior Developers.
• Own outcomes and communicate next steps to ensure results.
• Communicate blockers and risks early to prevent downstream problems.
• Collaborate with PM, Accounts, Design, UX, SEO, Content, and Strategy.
• Work with hosting providers and client IT teams to maintain system functionality.
• Identify and implement improvements to WM&S and Development processes.
• Grow technical depth through mentorship and hands-on experience.
