Job summary

Peraton is seeking an experienced Windows Server / IIS Administrator to join our federal cloud hosting program. This fully remote role administers Windows Server and IIS in an AWS-based, mission-critical environment.

Work with a DevOps team to apply STIGs, monitor systems with DataDog, and participate in on-call rotations and incident response. U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a Public Trust clearance; 5+ years in Windows Server and 3+ years IIS preferred.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required; must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
• 5+ years of hands-on experience administering Windows Server environments (2016, 2019+) in a production setting
• 3+ years of experience managing Microsoft IIS web servers, including application pool management, site configuration, SSL/TLS administration, and performance tuning
• Familiarity with applying STIGs and NIST SP 800-53 controls in Federal or regulated environments
• Experience with enterprise monitoring tools (DataDog, SolarWinds, Splunk) for server health and availability monitoring
• Working knowledge of AWS cloud services relevant to Windows workloads (EC2, Systems Manager, S3, CloudWatch)
• Proficiency with PowerShell scripting for administration, automation, and configuration management tasks
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Administer, patch, and maintain Windows Server environments (2016, 2019, and newer) within an AWS-hosted Federal cloud infrastructure
• Configure, manage, and optimize IIS web servers, including app pools, bindings, SSL/TLS certificates, and site configurations
• Apply security hardening measures in accordance with DISA STIGs, NIST 800-53 controls, and agency policies
• Monitor Windows Server and IIS health, performance, and availability using enterprise observability tools and triage incidents per SLA tiers
• Coordinate with DevOps on CI/CD integration, IaC support, and automated deployment workflows
• Support FISMA compliance activities, including vulnerability management and audit artifacts
• Respond to critical incidents within SLA windows and participate in on-call rotation
• Maintain runbooks, SOPs, and system documentation for knowledge transfer
• Contribute to planned maintenance, scheduling downtime with stakeholders
• Support onboarding and environment prep for Day 1 readiness
