Job summary

Dudek is seeking an As-Needed Fire Protection Planner to join its wildfire planning team. The role focuses on evaluating wildfire hazard and developing mitigation plans for landowners and agencies, with remote work and occasional travel to project sites in the western US.

The candidate will analyze data, maps, and GIS information, prepare technical reports, and support fire protection planning activities. A relevant degree and GIS/CAD skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in fire science, forestry, natural resources, or related field.
• Ability to research and summarize information into reports.
• Ability to interpret site development plan drawings.
• Valid driver’s license and automobile liability insurance by start date.

Responsibilities

• Analyze maps, plans, and data to summarize wildfire conditions for reports and evacuation plans.
• Conduct field assessments of wildfire/evacuation hazards.
• Analyze field and GIS data and conduct project research.
• Prepare fire protection plans, reports, and hazard reduction recommendations.
• Attend meetings to discuss assessment results.
