Job summary

Georgia Department of Public Health is seeking a Remote Nutritionist to serve WIC participants nationwide. This part-time, hourly role offers up to 29 hours per week with an hourly rate of $30.00.

Remote work is supported; occasional travel to clinic locations may be required. You will conduct nutrition assessments, develop care plans, provide education and counseling to pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding individuals, infants and children, and coordinate referrals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in dietetics, human nutrition, foods and nutrition, nutrition education, food systems management, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university.
• Verification statement of completion of a didactic program accredited by The Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics.
• Copy of the Verification Statement and transcripts must be submitted with the application.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nutrition assessments and determine participant eligibility according to USDA WIC policies.
• Develop individualized nutrition care plans and monitor participant progress.
• Provide nutrition education and counseling to pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, infants, and children.
• Provide breastfeeding education, support, and counseling to participants and caregivers.
• Provide medical nutrition therapy to participants as appropriate.
• Conduct individual and group nutrition education sessions.
• Coordinate participant referrals to healthcare providers, family planning, immunization services, and other community resources.
• Maintain accurate electronic documentation and ensure compliance with USDA, Georgia WIC, and Northeast Health District policies and procedures.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, staff meetings, trainings, and quality improvement activities.
• Develop or utilize approved nutrition education materials.
• Provide virtual nutrition services to WIC participants using approved technology platforms and maintain confidentiality.

Education
