Job description

This Remote Warehouse Associate is responsible for the purchasing, receiving, inventory, storing, and associated record keeping of food service and housekeeping products and supplies as well as performing general cleaning and floor maintenance duties.

Responsibilities

1. Maintains storerooms, shelves, loading docks, and walk-in coolers by properly laying out and rotating products.
2. Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, vehicles, or shelves.
3. Provides a variety of products to other personnel as they are needed.
4. Continually keeps accurate inventories/records of materials on hand.
5. Works with other personnel to make sure all products and supplies will be available and ready as needed.
6. Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials to be moved.
7. Updates pricing and databases regularly.
8. Inspects deliveries for conformity to standards, quantity/quality ordered.
9. Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled.
10. Delivers, unloads, loads, stocks, cleans, rotates, or picks up materials or products from various locations.
11. Handles special food service related projects.
12. Prepares and cleans products to be stored.
13. Assists in maintaining the cleanliness of other associated areas.
14. Cleans work area, machines, and equipment and keeps assigned areas neat, safe, and orderly.
15. Stacks, assembles, or bands materials together.
16. Uses various types of hand trucks to facilitate movement of materials or products.
17. Operates industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
18. Assists others such as food service personnel with their general day-to-day activities.
19. Notifies supervisor if safety and sanitation standards are not being met.
20. This position is not responsible for supervising staff.
21. Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit's success also may be assigned.

Qualifications

1. A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
2. At least one (1) year experience which evidences a knowledge of purchasing, material handling, inventory control, stocking, shipping and receiving of perishable items.
3. At least one (1) year experience working with commercial cleaning equipment and cleaning in a commercial or industrial setting.
4. Must have intermediate computer skills with regards to inventory control, product ordering, purchasing and managing warehouse operations.
5. Must have intermediate skills with QuickBooks Pro, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
6. A valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under NMS' vehicle insurance policy.
7. Must pass all pre-employment contract requirements which may include but are not limited to: background check and UA drug test.
8. Must be able to cooperate and work as part of a team with fellow employees, customers and clients.
9. Must be able to make decisions in the moment with little to no supervision.
10. Must be able to be on your feet for 12 hours per shift for the scheduled rotation.
11. Must be able to live in dormitory style settings and meet cleanliness requirements of the remote camp.
12. Contract requires employees to speak, understand, read and write English.
13. Must meet and adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations set forth by the company and client.
14. Must be able to obtain a food worker card.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

1. Weather: Indoor/Outdoor. Frequently exposed to arctic conditions.
2. Noise level: Moderate to Loud.
3. Description of environment: This is a remote camp setting. Employees must constantly be able to stand, sit, walk, climb, push, pull use hands and arms, stoop, kneel and crouch. Employees are occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and may be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
4. Travel: Must be able to travel by plane and/or bus to remote camps.
5. Physical requirements: Must be able to lift and/or move 50 lbs.
