Job summary

WCG is seeking a VP, Business Development - Ethical Review (IRB and IBC) to lead a national sales organization and drive revenue growth in the life sciences sector. This executive will shape sales strategy, manage senior teams, and collaborate across Marketing, Product, and Operations to deliver data-driven client solutions.

The role requires 10+ years in commercial leadership, strong leadership and stakeholder skills, and the ability to operate in a matrix environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in commercial leadership selling enterprise services or clinical research solutions.
• At least 5 years in a senior commercial role within life sciences or CROs.
• Minimum of 5 years managing direct reports.
• Proven track record of exceeding revenue targets and scaling sales.
• Deep understanding of clinical trials, regulatory environments, and commercialization lifecycle.
• Strong strategic thinking, analytical and financial acumen.
• Leader with client-centric mindset and accountability in a matrix organization.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve revenue targets across pharma, biotech, and CRO markets.
• Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing sales team of senior professionals.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Product, and Operations to align go-to-market strategies.
• Build and maintain relationships with key clients, industry stakeholders, and partners.
• Monitor sales metrics, pipeline health, and forecasting; take corrective actions.
• Own sales playbooks, messaging, account coverage, KPIs, and quarterly reviews.
• Partner with CHRO and Finance to define role levels, salary bands, and incentives.
