Job summary
The Department of Economic Security (DES) invites applications for a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor with RSA. The role provides counseling to individuals with disabilities to address barriers to employment and helps them gain or retain work, in a hybrid work environment based in Arizona.
Salary ranges align with state guidelines and vary by tier and credentials. Entry, Intermediate, and Senior levels require education in rehabilitation or related fields; CRC certification for senior level
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in rehabilitation counseling or related field and two years' experience with individuals with disabilities
- Master's degree in rehabilitation counseling and one year of experience with individuals with disabilities (CRC not required for intermediate)
- Senior requires CRC certification in addition to intermediate credentials
Responsibilities
- Introduce clients to the vocational rehabilitation program and eligibility criteria
- Review medical/psychological information to identify employment needs and goals
- Provide vocational counseling, career exploration, and labor market exploration
- Meet with clients one-on-one to develop or modify an Individualized Plan for Employment (IPE)
- Provide case management and coordinate services with providers
- Manage fiscal resources including authorizing and paying services
