Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Migration Engineer to lead large-scale migrations from on-prem VMware to AWS, including planning, execution, and stabilization. The role emphasizes automation, IaC, and collaboration across infra, app, network, and security teams.

The candidate will build AWS environments, automate deployment, and drive cutovers with minimal business disruption in a remote US setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or similar field.
• 5+ years supporting VMware infrastructure environments.
• 3+ years designing and implementing AWS cloud solutions.
• Proven experience leading VMware-to-AWS migrations and using MGN.

Responsibilities

• Assess VMware vSphere environments and dependencies for migration readiness.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute migrations from VMware to AWS.
• Implement and manage AWS MGN and migration tooling; run pilots at scale.
• Develop runbooks, cutover plans, and validation procedures.
• Collaborate with security, networking, and support teams; ensure post-migration stabilization.
