Job summary

Utah Connections Academy seeks a full-time Special Education Teacher to manage online instructional programs for students with special needs from a home office in Utah. You will develop and implement IEPs, communicate with learning coaches, and coordinate with district professionals to ensure compliance and student success.

The role emphasizes virtual instruction, collaboration with teachers, and adherence to IDEA requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Special Education or related Education Field (SPED).
• Current Utah teaching license.
• Priority will be given to candidates who live in Utah.
• Experience in IDEA and/or administration with Special Education.
• Strong technology skills (especially with Google products).
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Willingness to travel overnight for school/testing events.

Responsibilities

• Manage instructional guidance, virtual teaching and strategies for a caseload of students.
• Develop, write and help implement IEPs.
• Evaluate tests and assessments, complete reports and conduct parent conferences.
• Communicate with parents/learning coaches about IEP goals and needs.
• Coordinate with teachers for specially designed instruction per IEP.
• Provide direct services via web-conferencing as needed.
• Schedule and conduct IEP meetings in a virtual environment.
• Assist school in Student Support Team activities and program modifications.
• Organize paperwork and IEP documentation.
• Locate service providers for related services as mandated by IEPs.
• Maintain data in LMS and special education software.
• Assist with state testing accommodations as required by IEP.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
