Job summary
Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) is seeking a System Engineer in the ITG VDAP unit to design, deploy, and maintain virtual desktop and application environments for hospital, research and academic users. You will lead engineering efforts, ensure high availability, and contribute to disaster recovery and security posture.
The role requires deep experience with virtualization technologies, Windows server administration and scripting, and collaboration across multiple IT teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination with 3+ years of IT experience.
- Experience with Application Virtualization and Desktop Virtualization.
- Experience with large mission critical systems and data center virtualization.
- Proficient in Microsoft Active Directory and LDAP.
- Vendor certifications in Citrix, VMware, Microsoft are preferred.
Responsibilities
- Designs, develops, and maintains virtual applications and desktops.
- Maintains high availability infrastructure for large enterprise deployments.
- Provides on‑call support for mission critical systems.
- Develops patch management and disaster recovery procedures.
- Documents system configurations and operational practices.
