Job summary

The Haskell Company is seeking a skilled Piping/Process BIM Detailer to convert P&IDs and design documents into fabrication-ready pipe models, spool sheets, BOMs, and isometrics for industrial projects. You will collaborate across trades and the VDC team to ensure accurate, coordinated drawings and standards.

You will work with Revit and AutoCAD Plant3D, integrate vendor submittals, and support project lifecycle changes while helping develop internal detailing standards and best practices.

Qualifications

• Two-year associate degree in CAD/BIM field (construction management, drafting, architecture, or mechanical/civil engineering).
• 0–3 years of relevant AEC pipe detailing experience.
• Proficiency with BIM (Revit and AutoCAD Plant3D) is required, exposure to reality capture and surveying is a plus.
• Experience with Water/Wastewater, Data Centers, or Manufacturing projects preferred.
• Strong communication and ability to work with distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Translate P&IDs into fabrication-ready pipe models, spool sheets, BOMs, and fabrication isometrics.
• Coordinate pipe routing with structural, equipment, and other trades.
• Interpret engineering specs, material standards, valve schedules, and QA/QC requirements.
• Review vendor drawings, submittals, and field markups.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, field superintendents, fabrication shops, and the VDC team.
• Maintain model accuracy through project lifecycle changes and revisions.
• Support development of internal standards, templates, and best practices for fabrication detailing.
• Assist other self-perform detailing scopes as needed (steel embeds, equipment layouts, skids).
• Support other VDC offerings: Visualization, 3D Modeling, BIM coordination, estimating, laser scanning, digital layout, drone, SUE.
