Job summary

ICF's Digital Modernization Division seeks a user‑centered UX Researcher to translate qualitative and quantitative data into actionable product and service improvements. You will partner with UX design, product, and engineering teams to reduce friction, improve accessibility, and inform strategic decisions for government programs.

The role is remote with a strong preference for candidates near the Washington, DC Metro area, and occasional on‑site client meetings in Washington, DC. U.S.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required due to federal contract requirements.
• Must reside in the U.S., be authorized to work in the U.S., and work must be performed in the U.S.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant UX research experience.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field; master's may substitute for two years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Support the UX vision and strategy aligned with project goals.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to frame problems and create research plans.
• Conduct qualitative and quantitative research including interviews, usability tests, surveys.
• Develop personas, journey maps, and experience assessments.
• Analyze feedback to identify needs and pain points for improvement.
• Synthesize findings into clear, actionable insights and recommendations.
• Communicate results clearly to cross‑functional teams and leadership.
• Inform service design, product, CRM/workflow improvements through research.
