Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Associates degree preferred.
• Minimum 1 year clerical experience required.
• Minimum 1 year administrative experience in healthcare preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in Utilization Management tasks including workflow organization and communications.
• Process payer communications and approvals for admissions via clinical review and appeals.
• Support Care Coordination communications and optimize workflow with payers and internal teams.
• Handle inbound faxes, ensure HIPAA compliance, document in EMR/EPIC.
• Collaborate with UM nurses and physician advisor to secure authorizations for inpatient or observation admissions.
• Perform routine clerical duties and revenue optimization activities per department workflows.
• Escalate issues and communicate barriers to leadership.
• Other duties as assigned (reports, research, onboarding).
