Job summary

Elevance Health is seeking a Utilization Management Representative I – Backoffice Support. This hybrid/remote role processes precertification, prior authorizations and post-service requests for governmental and commercial lines, with no inbound calls.

Based in the United States, you will work with faxes, queues, and electronic channels, ensuring accuracy and HIPAA compliance while supporting case resolution and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Requires HS diploma or GED.
• Minimum 1 year of customer service or call-center experience.
• Willing to work an 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. ET shift.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and processes utilization management requests received through fax, electronic queues, and other approved channels.
• Accurately enters referral and authorization information into utilization management systems.
• Prepares and sends clear, complete, and accurate fax correspondence to providers, facilities, members, and internal partners.
• Meets productivity, quality, accuracy, and turnaround-time standards with low error rate.
• Verifies benefits and administrative requirements; documents actions and correspondence; maintains confidentiality.
